Fall Retreat ‘23

  • Dunes Bible Camp 23515 Pacific Way Ocean Park, WA 98640 (map)

Get ready for the Fall Retreat, a fantastic weekend to pull away from the chaos of life to draw close to God, soak in deep biblical teaching, and to connect with young adults from all over Western Washington. Thrive Kitsap, Thrive Harbor, and any young adult from around the area are all invited, so, you know, tell all your friends n' stuff!

Registration is $115 and includes lodging for two nights and five meals. An email will be sent to all registrants about a week before the retreat with a packing list and other important info.

You can arrive on Friday any time after 5:00pm. We encourage you to get there by 7:00pm if possible. (In past years we’ve found it’s helpful to ask for Friday off from work or school if you are able.) On Sunday we’ll finish around noon.

FAQS

  • Description text goes hereAny young adult! Although Thrive is providing the venue and program, Fall Retreat is open to any young adult. In fact, we’re expecting a variety of young adult groups to attend this year from around the South Sound.

For legal reasons, however, we are not able to take minors, so attendees must be 18 or older.

  • Fall Retreat is being put on by Thrive Harbor and Thrive Kitsap, a cross-church young adult ministry. The venue for Fall Retreat is Dunes Bible Camp in Ocean Park, WA.

  • So much!—deep biblical teaching, rich fellowship with young adults from around the region, enjoyment of God’s creation, late-night conversations, (probably!) a barn dance, and, of course, lots of other fun. 🙂

  • This year’s retreat theme is Heaven. We’ll be looking at what Scripture teaches about the realities of eternity and the great and glorious destination that awaits God’s people—as well as how the realities of Heaven transform the way we live now.

This year we’ve put together a list of resources about our retreat theme. The page includes recommended reading and listening about Heaven as a way to prepare your heart and mind for Fall Retreat!

  • This year’s retreat speaker is Peter Churness. You can learn more about Peter through his bio below.

For over a decade, Peter Churness has served as the lead pastor at One Hope Church in Gig Harbor, WA, and also is a member of Thrive’s board of directors. An evangelist at heart with a strong gift of expository preaching, Peter is passionate about employing creative means of communicating the gospel to the next generation.

A 1997 graduate of the American Lutheran Theological Seminary, Peter previously served as a worship pastor, church planter, and director of Life Together Churches, a house church network. He is a certified pastor with both Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ and the Alliance of Renewal Churches.

He and his wife, Sandy, have three young adult children: Hannah, Megan, and Caleb.

  • All registrants will receive an email about a week before the retreat with a packing list and other important info.
